Calder United Free Church
Committee of Management
The Committee of Management meets formally every month except for July & August and at all times tries to ensure that their stewardship of the financial matters of the Church are being carried out in a responsible way for the benefit of the Congregation, the Community in Lochwinnoch and the wider Church.
One of the main duties is to ensure that the properties of the Church, Hall and Manse are well maintained and over the years we have carried out some major projects in addition to dealing with the week to week minor repairs and maintenance.
At the monthly meetings we review and agree all items of expenditure, review any statutory requirements and health & safety in addition to monitoring progress on current projects.
Mark Brown is the Chairperson (or using the historical term – ‘Preses’)
Margaret McKinlay is the Treasurer
Elizabeth Martin is the Clerk
We have been blessed by a good team who work well together but as always are looking for any additional church members who feel that they would be able to offer a particular skill or who think that they could help with the work of the committee.
Recent major projects which have been undertaken are:-
Upgrading of the sound system for both voice and music
Addition of new radiators throughout the main Church building
Consideration is also being given to updating the audio visual presentation system in the church. Discussions are at early stage and it is hoped to progress this project in the months to come.
